Allison Kasic
Allison’s love for free markets was first revealed during a political spectrum quiz she took in seventh grade that pegged her for holding a “firm stance against government subsidies for the arts.” Her passion for free markets was confirmed thanks to a high school economics teacher who showed her John Stossel TV specials. Her passion became her career when she joined the Independent Women’s Forum as the director of the R. Gaull Silberman Center for Collegiate Studies after graduating from Bucknell University. While there, she did extensive work fighting discrimination against both sexes through Title IX policy research and education programs. She decided to further educate herself on the best ways to be effective in this role by joining the 2007-08 Koch Associate Program.
Allison is currently enrolled in the Mercatus Center Master’s Fellowship Program for students pursuing a master’s in economics at George Mason University. She hopes that a greater understanding of economic principles will make her a more effective policy analyst.
Allison credits the Koch Associate Program with increasing her knowledge of economics and political philosophy while also learning beneficial and practical management tools. She says she “picked up a variety of helpful management concepts, such as how to set good program measures, which have made me a more effective manager.”
Allison spends her spare time going to concerts and rooting for her Colorado sports teams.
