Application Process
Selection for the Koch Internship Program is highly competitive. Each candidate who applies is carefully evaluated based on his or her application materials.
Application process
Candidates may apply up to six months before the start of each program. We accept applications, conduct interviews, and extend job offers on a rolling basis.
Please note that we cannot consider applicants who are not available for phone interviews during our interview period. If hired, you will be required to present documentation evidencing your current legal right to work in the United States. We are an equal opportunity employer. M/F/D/V

Submitting your application
To submit your application for the Koch Internship Program, please follow these steps:
- Click the ‘APPLY NOW’ link
- Click the ‘Submit your resume’ button, then follow the ‘Create your resume profile’ link
- Complete your profile information. Make note of your username and password for future access.
- Copy and paste the text of your resume into the field at the bottom. Don’t worry if the formatting looks unusual. Click ‘Submit.’
- Review your resume profile and confirm your information. Once you submit your resume, you will not be able to update it.
- Be sure to answer the application questions on the next page and click ‘Submit.’
- You’ve completed the application once your screen reads, “Thank you for submitting your resume to the Koch Internship Program position”. You will receive email confirmation of your application shortly.
Application questions
You will need to submit the following application questions online for the Koch Internship Program. We recommend typing your responses in a separate document and pasting them into the application to avoid timing out and losing your work. Please note the word limits. Application questions are subject to change.
- What do you hope to gain through the Koch Internship Program? (100 word limit)
- List five people or books that have influenced your philosophical or ideological thinking about the role of government, and explain how each has influenced you. (100 word limit)
- What do you see as the ideal role of government? (50 word limit)
- Describe a specific example of a government policy that aligns with your view of the ideal role of government. (100 word limit)
- Drawing on your extracurricular, academic, or work-related experiences, describe your biggest failure or mistake. Please include what you did wrong and how you responded. (150 word limit)
- Provide an original poem relating to free markets, beginning with the words, "Roses are red..."
- Provide the names and email addresses of three references, along with their relationship to you. Letters of recommendation are not required.
